Perhaps.

Perhaps.

Perhaps laughter was simply laughter.

Perhaps the silence was simply silence.

Perhaps the dress was simply beautiful.

The gaze simply open.

The quiet simply still.

How quickly we create stories
about another person's expression.

She does it because...

He says it because...

She wears it for...

We witness

a gesture

and supply

its intention.

Perhaps because the mind dislikes empty spaces.

Perhaps because we believe
everything must serve a purpose.

The unfamiliar world of purposelessness.

Yet not every expression is an advertisement.

Not every form of beauty seeks validation.

Not every movement is a message.

Some things simply arise

because a human being is alive.

Perhaps true encounter begins

when we stop inventing
the reasons behind one another,

and become curious enough

to leave them unknown.

Perhaps.
